Gustafson had recently visited several museums and was amused by the small percentage of found bones that exist in many of the reconstructed dinosaur skeletons. This sculpture is a representation of his favorite dinosaur, a Triceratops. His process to create it was to lay out the scrap he had excavated and, much like a paleontologist, study the pieces and determine how they must fit together.
